About
The Sacramento State Aquatic Center is a cooperative operation of the Associated Students Inc. of California State University, Sacramento, the University Union of Sac State, California Division of Boating and Waterways, and the California Department of Parks and Recreation. The center was established in 1981 and has provided instruction to thousands of students.

Capital Crew Boys Head Coach
Katie began rowing at the Aquatic Center, 1st with the Learn To Row & Summer Rowing Programs, then became a member of Capital Crew. After a successful 2 year with Capital, Katie was recruited to Cal where she competed on the Varsity level in the JV8+ and V4+ boats her first year, winning two NCAA Team National Championships, back to back in 2005 & 2006.
PWC “Jet Skiing” Class
There is no better way to spend the afternoon than riding along on a Kawasaki Jet Ski with the wind in your face, adrenaline pumping through your body and the assurance of safety. This class is designed to educate watercraft users about safety, care and operation on various waterways.
Advanced Clinics
These clinics are designed for the water skier or wakeboarder who wants to learn more about tournament skiing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need any experience to rent the equipment?
No, general public are able to rent the sit-on-top kayaks, canoes and recreational stand up paddle boards without having taken a class or being checked out. However, rental of a sailboat, windsurf, fiberglass stand up paddle board or rowing shell requires to be checked out (have taken a class or private lesson.)
Do I always need to wear a life jacket?
Yes, while using our equipment we require that a life jacket be worn at all time regardless of age.

Learn to Row! Capital Crew Apprentice Program is geared toward middle school aged athletes that are looking for a unique sport that will challenge and educate them in life and sport. Our program focuses on the essentials of rowing, in the form of sculling (rowing with two oars per athlete.) The athletes will learn the basics in coxed quads, and octuple boats.
Early Bird Ski Rides
Come join us for a stunning sunrise ride at Folsom Lake. Clinic includes one 15-20 minute ski ride behind your choice of a Ski Nautique or a Super Air Nautique.
