KINS 009 Beginning Sailing
Instruction in the fundamentals of sailing in the Holder-14's and Lasers, including safety and a discussion of terminology and
technology of sailing. Additional charge for off-campus services. Prerequisite: 50 yards swimming
ability. 1 unit.
KINS 010 Intermediate Sailing
Continuation of KINS 009, using our fleet of Holder-14's, Laser, and Holder-20's. Covers rigging, boating safety, sailing, theory
and racing tactics. Additional charge for off-campus services. Prerequisite: 50 yards swimming ability.

KINS 011 Basic Windsurfing
Introduces the student to the basic fundamentals of windsurfing. Covers rigging, terminology, balance, stance, sail adjustment,
safety, rescue skills, and tricks. Additional charge for off-campus services. Prerequisite: 50 yards
swimming ability. 1 unit.
KINS 012 Water Skiing
Instruction in basic water skiing and wake boarding, boating safety and in the fundamental skills in water skiing and wake
boarding. Additional charge for off-campus services. Prerequisite: 50 yards swimming ability. 1 unit.
KINS 014 Basic Olympic Rowing
Teaches the novice rower oar control, basic commands, and correct style. Students will begin rowing on a modern eight-oared
racing shell and be introduced to the one person rowing single. Additional charge for off-campus services.
Prerequisite: 50 yards swimming ability. 1 unit.
RLS 132 Recreation Waterfront Management
Examination of principles and practices associated with management of recreation waterfront facilities and programs (commercial
and public). Such topics as facility planning, design and maintenance; program selection, development and implementation;
equipment selection and maintenance; staff selection and training; promotion of programs; and budgeting will be addressed. 3 units.
